We now have a few more details for the Striking Competition and brief General Meeting at Moseley, 16th May. There’s a deadline below of 10th May!

The welcome and draw will be at St Mary’s at 1:30pm where the ringers tea will be served later in the day, followed by a General Meeting.

There will be 3 competitions; a novice 6 bell at St Mary’s, 6 bell method at St Anne’s and an 8 bell method at St Mary’s. These competitions are for everyone, no matter their ability or level of experience.

Here are Rachel’s rules for the day!

Novice 6 bell at St Mary’s
Call changes
Must ring for at least eight minutes
At least three bells must to be called to the lead.
Must ring at least 16 different changes and start and end in rounds.

6 bell method at St Anne’s
Doubles- 240 changes of any doubles method

8 bell method at St Mary’s.
Full course of any treble dodging eight bell method OR
Equivalent changes of triples.

General rules

• Teams are allowed up to two minutes of rounds to test for rope length
• Composition and choice of methods is left up to the discretion of each band
• You may ring for a team taking part in each of the three competitions but try to accommodate as many different ringers as possible. It is also permitted for you to ring for more than one team in the eight-bell competition if your expertise is needed
• There are no penalties for failing to stand a bell at the end of a test piece
• The rounds in the method competitions will not be marked
