We are sorry to have to let you know that Maurice Edwards has passed away.

Maurice has been a significant part of The St Martin’s Guild history. Of his 3237 peals, 1273 were rung for our Guild, the fourth most peals rung for the Guild by any member. He was also instrumental in the project to augment Northfield from an 8 to a 10.

Anthea, his daughter, has posted to say,

“I’m sorry to let everyone know that my lovely Dad passed away yesterday after illness. We are very grateful to the staff at Frimley Park Hospital who looked after him the last 3 weeks. Will miss you for forever. Former Tower Captain at Northfield, former Tower Captain and Steeple Keeper at Birmingham Cathedral and Steeple Keeper at St Martin’s in the Bull Ring“.
